Torre Agbar is headquarters of Aguas de Barcelona (abbreviation- Agbar), municipal water company which is 34-floor high (142 m). The building was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel and is often mentioned as geyser. Torre Agbar was created under impression from architectural heritage of Antonio Gaudi. The procedure of official opening by the President of Spain occurred at September, 16th 2005. The construction of this building cost 130 million euro.

Technically, the building consists of two nonconcentric oval cylinders, covered by glass and steel dome. The structure does not have interior columns; lines of communication and fire towers are situated in the central concrete nucleus.

Despite the fact that the inner structure of the building is really interesting, it is the external view of Agbar Tower which amuses travelers when they go down the roads of Barcelona. The first layer which covers the concrete structure is polished aluminium in blue, green and grey colors. The second layer, which adds iridescent shine to the building, consists of 59 619 sheets of transparent glass.

The tower has got 4400 windows with louvers which are inclined in different directions to block any direct sunlight. At night, the building is even more magnificent with highlight of 4500 yellow, blue, pink and red sparks which illuminate the external view.

Twenty eight out of thirty four floors of the building are used for offices and additional three floors hide technical components of the building. The café occupies the whole floor, other rooms serve as conference halls and one more floor of the tower is the sightseeing platform. Four underground floors have auditorium and parking lot.

This skyscraper was bought by hotel chain Hyatt from the USA at November, 16th 2013 in order to make there a luxurious hotel.
