You are going to visit an ancient town Besalú which was founded by Romans. This is the former fortress at one of Roman streets, which connected the centre of the empire with conquered territories of Iberian Peninsula. The main attractions of the town are fortified Roman Bridge of the XI-XIV centuries and Church of St. Peter that dates back to the X century. Namely in Besalú the scenes for the movie “Perfumer” were shot.
In addition, we will visit Medieval mountain town Rupit. It is located at the place formed approximately 11, 5 thousand years ago by fossilized lava. The population of the town is only 300 citizens and local houses date back to the XVI-XVII cent. The building of the biggest value for every tourist is an ancient sanctuary of the Virgin Mary – Santuario del Far. One more attraction of Rupit is the church of the XI cent. – Sant Joan de Fàbregues . According to the legend witches lived and hid from cruel inquisitors in this settlement, situated at the high of 820 m above sea level.
